I did two episodes of Just Veggin', a short show about - you know, vegetables - where a different guest shares a veggie recipe and stories about their life. These episodes feature a South Indian grandma and her mother's recipe for cauliflower, and James Beard Award-winning chef Ana Sortun who teaches us how to make spinach-packed cacik.
Recipient of a Mass Cultural Council Grant; seeking funding for the rest of the first season. First two episodes coming this spring on YouTube. To learn more, go to Just Veggin'.
Summer Shack, written during the pandemic, is my self-published novel -- what I call a rom-traum or a spiritual beach read -- about a woman learning how to love herself at midlife during one magical week in the dunes of Provincetown, MA. It is based on the chakra system, with each day's challenge pushing our protagonist to more fully embody her true self. Featuring lots of healthy food, a 90-year-old witch, a shark and a dog, it is a feast of (self)love. Needs an editor or agent!
My screenplay, Field & Forest, written about a year after I finished cancer treatment, was the first fiction I'd written since childhood. In this rom-traum, our heroine escapes her dark past and an abusive relationship. There is baking, nature, and yes, romance - not to mention, all sorts of fungi. It is a first draft hungry for an editor/ collaborator.
